Our goal is to establish regular regional meetings for descendants of those persecuted under National Socialism at various locations across Germany. These meetings are intended to facilitate exchange among participants, provide educational opportunities, and contribute to work on remembrance and historical-political education.
Currently, regular meetings are held in Cologne, where descendants of the persecuted work on their own biographies under the guidance of author and journalist Nora Hespers. The biography workshops are offered both in-person and via Zoom, allowing participants from different regions to take part.
The main aim of the biography workshops is to encourage participants to share and discuss their challenging family histories and engage in dialogue. The workshops also seek to boost participants' self-confidence and help them develop a sense of collective group identity. In the long term, this enables them to articulate their needs in political discussions.
Ultimately, the goal is for participants to form a largely autonomous group that can engage politically and socially.
If you are interested in attending a workshop or in helping to establish a regional group at another location, please feel free to contact us.
